Bad Company = Bad Lag

On and off this weekend I've been [trying] to play Bad Company. I got so frustrated with the lag that I would either give up or call my friend and play the demo.
For some reason the demo had little or no lag compared to the full game. Oh, and he doesn't have the full game yet so we can only play together through the demo.
I thought it was just my connection but other players were saying the same thing. I mean, I couldn't leave buildings because I kept sliding back in. Ladders? Out of the question after one "suicide."
So what do you do when you have a ton of lag but still want to play? Support. I just ran around healing teammates and fixing equipment and trying to snipe with my MG36 (actually got a few kills).
So I tried again yesterday. After a few games and restarting my box, my router... everything I could think of... still didn't work. I let everything cool off for a few hours and decided to play another game or two before bed. It worked! I couldn't believe it!
Is there a reason for this madness? Is it hit and miss? I knew some people were having problems with the demo when it first came out and I did find a few people who noticed this lag now but no one seems to be really speaking up. I need to just email EA. Help EA! Help!
Or I won't play anymore.
